Survival has different meanings to different people. For some its surviving in a large metropolitan city. To others its being prepared for an event where the continuance of humanity is in question. In our case we will consider wilderness survival where we have become separated from our group and we need to make do for a short period. No matter how we define survival, the same rules apply although the preparations will differ.

• Will to survive and a proper mental attitude
• Physical fitness
• Knowledge and skills (first aid, survival skills, wild plant identification, land navigation, knot making, etc.)
• Tools

For the Green star here's what you will need for the Cub First Aid/Survival kit.

For the Trailcraft badge a survival kit is called for. Once you have it completed see Akela and he has some fire starters to put into your kit.
