REGISTRATION

CJ’07 Registrations will be accepted on a first come/first served basis beginning in spring 2006.

NOTE: The size of the site will dictate that CJ’07 can only accommodate 8000 participants (youth and leaders).

Unit Composition: Participants need to register in units of no more than ten (10), and no less than five (5), including two (2) registered leaders. A Jamboree unit is a group of either Scouts or Venturers who, along with two (2) adult leaders, camp and participate in Jamboree program activities as a group.

FEES AND DEPOSITS

Fees: Budget development continues based on confirmation of funding, grants, food costs and other donations. The fee will be between $500 and $600 per participant (food included).

Final Fee Payment: The final fee payments must be paid by December 1, 2006 to avoid late fees.

CAMP TOGETHER

A Scout Group or Venturer company can send more than one unit to the Jamboree. Two or more Scout units or  two or more Venturer units can choose to camp together. Scouts cannot camp with Venturers. Units choosing to camp together cannot have identical program schedules.

OFFERS OF SERVICE

Registration for Offers of Service (OOS) will appear on the web site this April. (www.scouts.ca/cj07). This information will also be inserted in a future issue of the Leader Magazine.

The OOS fee is $50.00 with an optional staff feeding fee of approximately $230.00, this fee to be confirmed by Registration opening date.. There will be an Offer of Service Subcamp with tent sites and a limited number of trailer/RV sites. Cooking will be permitted in the Offer of Service subcamp, however, there will be a very limited supply of food stuffs on site. Offer of Service will not have easy access to their vehicles as the OOS parking lot is approximately 2 km from site.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP TEAM PROGRAM

This program (YLT) permits Venturers to participate at CJ as program activity leaders. YLT participants register as Offers of Service and indicate on the form that they are registering for YLT. They will work in teams at the jamboree and can sign up as wanting to work together. Single youth who sign up for YLT will be placed in a team based on their skills.

All YLT participants will need to complete components of the “Focus” Youth Leadership Training developed by the National Youth Committee.

Trading Post

Be sure that youth and adults visit the Trading Post page of the CJ’07 website (www.scouts.ca/cj07) on a regular basis. It will contain many specials, offered through your local Scout Shop, that will make the CJ camping experience that much more enjoyable.

Fundraising

Start early; start now! Many groups find that Scout Popcorn is the only fundraiser they need. Better funding means better support for camping trips, equipment purchases, and of course, CJ’07 participation. Check out www.scouts.ca for lots more information.
